Dermaplaning is a painless and relaxing way to remove vellus hair (peach fuzz) and dead skin using a small sterile blade.
Does that fine facial hair really stand out when you apply your make up? Does your skin look dull and in need of a good exfoliation? All these common complaints can be addressed with a dermaplaning facial. After treatment make up glides on smoother and skin feels and looks heathier and brighter.
What can I expect during and after the procedure? Dermaplaning is actually really relaxing! We gently cleanse and prep the skin first then glide a small sterile blade over the skin and intricate areas like around the nose. Most clients are astonished with the amount of gunk that comes off the skin! The treatment can be combined with a Dermapeel for an even deeper exfoliation or we can apply one of our algae masks to target a number of skin concerns.
Is there any downtime following the procedure? There is no downtime following this procedure but we do recommend staying out of the sun or wearing a very high factor sun screen following the treatment.
Will dermaplaning make my hair grow back thicker? Dermaplaning and shaving will not make the hair grow back thicker. It may feel different when it starts to grow back as it has been cut straight across but it will be the same density as before and will continue to grow at the same speed.
Who is suitable for the treatment? In the hands of a professional, dermaplaning is safe for most skin types, especially those with sun damage, fine lines, dry patches, and dull skin. Dermaplaning isn’t suitable for highly reactive sensitive skin or aggressive acne.
How often can I have a dermaplaning facial? We recommend a treatment no more often than once a month.
